The Confederation of Portuguese Business – CIP, Repsol Foundation and Fundación Corell organised the “Luso-Spanish Forum: The Iberian space connected to accelerate decarbonisation” on 5 July 2023 in Lisbon.

The opening session was attended by Armindo Monteiro, President of CIP, Carlos Moedas, President of Lisbon Municipality, Antonio Brufau, President of Repsol, and Marcos Basante, President of Fundación Corell and ASTIC (International Road Transport Association).

Armindo Monteiro, President of CIP, emphasised that the “energy transition is fundamental, but it must be fair to safeguard both the social and economic pillars”.

Next, the President of Petronor, Emiliano López Atxurra, addressed the topic: “The energy transition as an opportunity for technological development and the reindustrialisation of the Iberian Peninsula”.

This was followed by two panel discussions, on “Logistics and digital connectivity, catalysts for the energy transition”, and on “Technological and industrial development for the energy transition in the Iberian Peninsula”.

The forum ended with the speeches of António Calçada, Vice-President and General Director of Fundación Repsol, and Duarte Cordeiro, Minister for the Environment and Climate Action.
