The President of CIP, António Saraiva, met with the President of the Luso-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILF), Fabrice Lachize, to discuss how relations between Portugal and France can be strengthened in the future.
The CCILF currently comprises around 700 associates and belongs to a worldwide network of contacts that includes 124 French CCI worldwide (95 countries).
France is the seventh largest economy in the world, the second largest in the European Union, and one of the leading exporters and importers (it ranks 9th in the world as an exporter and 7th as an importer). An economic partner of great importance to Portugal, France continues to present business opportunities in various sectors of activity.
According to INE, France was the 2nd client for Portuguese exports of goods in 2021, with a 13.1% share of the total, occupying the 3rd position in imports (6.7%). The trade balance of goods was favourable to our country, with a surplus of 2,797 million euros.
