On 28 June, CIP hosted a South African delegation led by the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Alvin Botes. The event was attended by 21 Portuguese organisations and companies.
The President of CIP, António Saraiva, highlighted the relevance of internationalisation for the Portuguese economy, South Africa as a close partner and the need to increase economic and social cooperation with that country.
Afterward, the Chairman of CIP’s Strategic Council for International Relations, Arnaldo Figueiredo, referred to the areas of opportunity in that country for sustainable private investment.
The Deputy Minister then highlighted the added value of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, and that South Africa is open for business.
