CIP met with the Directorate General for Economic Activities (DGAE) and with a Swedish delegation led by the Chair of the High-Level Group for Competitiveness and Growth, Ambassador Daniel Blockert, to convey the main concerns of companies and discuss some legislative proposals underway in the EU, particularly given the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

CIP also highlighted the need to find joint measures to mitigate the energy crisis, reduce strategic dependencies, reduce the legislative burden, and mitigate labour shortages, as the EU should address with maximum urgency.

While we move forward with temporary and short-term exceptional measures, we must maintain sight of our decarbonisation goal. Europe needs to return to a functioning energy market that encourages investments in low-carbon technologies, networks, and interconnections as soon as possible.
