CIP, represented by the Head of the EU office, Joana Valente, participated in a debate with the European Commission’s EVP, Valdis Dombrovskis, organized by BusinessEurope, to discuss the proposals that the Commission is currently developing on critical raw materials.

CIP supports this initiative, emphasizing that the EU must address the supply of raw materials with medium and long-term solutions. While listing critical raw materials and sustainable extraction is significant in the medium term, research and development of substitute materials and new forms of recycling should also be pursued.

Moreover, CIP also stresses the importance of trade agreements and other forms of partnership to diversify import markets.
