The Executive Committee of BusinessEurope, which brings together the Directors General of the national federations, met in Brussels on 2 March to discuss the current challenges facing businesses, among which the very high regulatory costs of the EU.

CIP, represented by Head of EU office Joana Valente, considers it positive that competitiveness concerns are again on the European agenda. But it is necessary to ensure that these are accompanied by concrete actions to reduce the regulatory burden on business and eliminate barriers that prevent the smooth functioning of the single market, fundamental to ensure the competitiveness of companies operating in the EU.
