The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Margriet Leemhuis, was received by the President of CIP, Armindo Monteiro. The visit had as its main subject the relations between both countries and the opportunities for cooperation.
The two countries have sought to strengthen bilateral cooperation in energy, namely green hydrogen, climate change, and defense.
According to INE, the Netherlands was the 7th customer of Portuguese exports of goods in 2021, with a share of 3.9% in the total, occupying the 4th position in imports (5.3%). In addition, the two countries have organised several bilateral visits, including that of the Dutch Kings to Portugal in October 2017 and that of Prime Minister Mark Rutte in April 2019.
