The CIP Board met with José Manuel Fernandes, Member of the European Parliament, who addressed the opportunities for the business community regarding European funds, and in particular how the InvestEU Program can be used to meet the financing and capitalization needs of companies.

CIP mentioned Portugal must ensure a strategic vision, which integrates not only the Recovery and Resilience Plan but also the other sources of financing, namely European funds within the scope of the Cohesion Policy. Moreover, investments that reinforce the resilience of our economy must be supported, and these must be accompanied by the implementation of structural reforms. The issue of simplification was also widely debated, with CIP reinforcing the need to introduce more appropriate instruments and processes, in order to ensure greater speed and efficiency in the participation of companies in the next multi-annual financial framework.
