The Executive Committee of BusinessEurope, which brings together the General Directors of the national business federations, met in Brussels on 27 October to discuss the energy crisis and the consequences already being felt in the industry in all EU countries.

CIP, represented by its Secretary General Carla Sequeira, defended the need for a coordinated European response, which includes not only immediate crisis measures but also structural measures.

In terms of concrete measures, CIP defended the need to reach an agreement on joint energy purchases and to move forward with the construction of energy interconnections, which are fundamental to achieving a genuine single market for energy.
