The President of the CIP, Armindo Monteiro, received the visit of a Paraguayan delegation headed by the Vice-Minister of Economic Relations and Integration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, Ambassador Enrique Franco, and the Ambassador of Paraguay in Portugal, Julio Duarte Van Humbeck.

The following topics were discussed at the meeting: Paraguay-Portugal relations, the state of play of the EU-Mercosur agreement, and opportunities for investment and cooperation.

It was also noted that the Confederation had the opportunity to receive, in February last year, Santiago Peña, recently elected President of the Republic of Paraguay. Throughout the meetings held with Paraguayan stakeholders, investment and cooperation opportunities have been identified for the industrial development of Paraguay, especially in the food, automotive, metalworking, textile, infrastructure (port and real estate), water and sanitation, and climate sectors, among others.
